Theatre Thoughts October Newsletter
It's the October issue, and the countdown till the end of the year is getting started. Read what's been happening now!
All the best performers bring to their role something more, something different than what the author put on paper. That's what makes theatre live. That's why it persists.
Founder’s Message
Welcome to the October issue of the Theatre Thoughts Newsletter, and it’s new variety of goodies within.
It’s been an insanely busy month on Gadigal land, as Sydney has played host to not one, not two but THREE festivals of theatre throughout the month of September. The Sydney Fringe Festival was in full swing, with hundreds of artists vying for the audience’s bums on seats to showcase new works, comedy, cabaret and everything in between.
Meanwhile over at the Old Fitz Theatre and the Hayes Theatre, there were two Festival of New Works taking place, showcasing the best of what Australian playwrights have in the pipeline. From new dramatic plays, through to workshops with industry titans and the first stagings of new musicals, there were also 2 Day Musical Challenges, and industry insights. To say that we feasted this month on all things theatre would be an understatement. My cup is full!
In this month’s newsletter we have:
- A Spotlight on our Review of the Month
- Behind the Scenes Footage Spotlight
- In Memoriam
- Theatre Thoughts Podcast Corner
- ..and Trivia Time!
